BackdropSplat and ImageSplat share background uploads, six original local scenes, direct HTTPS image URLs, centered Fill/Fit, and matching PNG/JPEG/ZIP compositions. ImageSplat applies the composition to selected layers with one-step Undo. BackdropSplat adds the shared six-language picker, saved preferences, and Arabic RTL. Photo cutouts use local open models; white/color removal and built-in scenes need no external connection.

Full DrawSplat and Tools v3.1.45 contain the updated tools, runtime, and scenes. The matching office/media/collection ZIPs are refreshed together; district suite v3.1.45 contains the complete ecosystem.

PlanSplat v1.2.1 · Purple splat icon

October 16, 2026. The PlanSplat header, browser and installed-app icon now display Plan on a purple paint splat, matching the DrawSplat style. Offline resources refresh the new icon. Exact tool redirects are placed before wildcard routes so all short app URLs work in production.

PlanSplat v1.2.0 · Language, themes and one Google connection

October 16, 2026. One Google sign-in connects Drive saving and the PlanSplat calendar. If Calendar access is declined, Drive saving continues and a header button offers Calendar connection. Calendar updates now replace start/end fields together when changing between an all-day and timed deadline, and failures show Google's diagnostic detail.

Choose from six interface languages, including Arabic right-to-left layout. Purple matches the suite; Ocean, Forest and High contrast themes are saved on the device. Task text and open drafts stay intact when switching languages. JSON backups can reload on another browser and merge with newer work. All 28 branded short tool URLs open the actual apps, and the SplatWorks navigation menu opens the six suite tools directly.

v3.1.43 · LayoutSplat ebooks and EPUB

EPUB 2/3 import, reflowable and fixed-layout EPUB 3 export, three ebook starters, metadata, heading navigation and a searchable reader preview are available in LayoutSplat v0.6.0. Reader controls include text size and Paper/Sepia/Night themes. Publisher labels now say native export; a text-to-bitmap fallback bug is fixed.

v3.1.42 · LayoutSplat native Publisher export and dynamic masters

LayoutSplat v0.5.0 writes native Publisher 2000 PUB files locally, retains reusable imported masters and matching shared-source stories, and resolves master-page numbers per page. Native text and basic shapes remain editable; other content uses reported bitmap fallbacks. LibreOffice opening is verified; Microsoft Publisher itself has not been tested.

v3.1.40 · Drive saving for existing browser sessions

ShowSplat now loads its updated module when an older offline cache is present, so its new Drive action is available without clearing saved decks. The worker and response headers also keep that module current on later visits. Refreshed downloads include the current document privacy headers and public startup observations. Local/native saves and the five office apps’ Drive workflows are preserved.

AI approval now applies to one provider destination in one tab. Turning connections off revokes approvals across tabs; AI fetch requests reject redirects. Browser-data exports redact recognized credentials in serialized settings and database records. Successful browser clearing offers a local deletion receipt, and automatic expiry can be switched off without deleting drafts.

All five SplatWorks office apps can save a native project copy to Google Drive using explicit authorization. Local saving, autosave and native formats remain available; no public-link sharing is enabled. GridSplat can reopen its last Drive save. Drive saving and district setup.

AudioSplat loads Google sign-in only when Drive saving is selected. MarkdownSplat and MemePuzzle use same-origin sample images. October 15, 2026. Shared privacy controls add browser-data export and clearing, explicit 1/7/30-day expiry, connection choices, tab-only AI keys, and approval before the first AI request. Existing drafts, local/AI workflows, native projects, and import/export formats remain supported. Common security headers cover both public domains; tighter app policies remain in place.

The PROTECT deployment review includes a generated component inventory, provider register, retention schedule, firm prospective request/deletion deadlines, and evidence-based scoring. District database export/deletion now covers account-linked private boards, submissions/feedback, memberships and usage; same-name legacy records require verified manual review. Optional database cleanup is disabled until configured. Updated self-host packages include the privacy resources. District host encryption, contracts, consent verification and backup destruction remain deployment review items.

Google Drive in six more apps and a new starter newsletter

PDFSplat, VideoSplat, MediaSplat, MarkdownSplat, ConceptSplat and MermaidSplat add optional Google Drive file saving. Existing local downloads, native formats and autosave remain available. No sharing is enabled by these new save actions.

LayoutSplat opens the two-page SplatWorks News – October 2026 newsletter in a fresh workspace. Existing saved publications and explicit blank workspaces reopen normally. File → Open starter newsletter creates a fresh copy on request. Large illustrated publications save their current draft before attempting a recovery copy, avoiding a redundant-backup quota failure.

VideoSplat saves timeline project manifests or rendered videos; manifests reference source media, which must be kept and relinked separately. MediaSplat saves processed files, an output ZIP, and generated SRT or TXT files. MermaidSplat saves editable source as .mmd and can reopen it locally.

PDFSplat, VideoSplat and MediaSplat authorize through a separate window while keeping their editor isolation settings. Access tokens stay in tab memory, and the authorization page receives no project content. Cached PDF pages retain local saving, and versioned app modules refresh the new actions. LayoutSplat v0.4.6, WriteSplat v0.2.0, and refreshed packages

LayoutSplat adds browser-native legacy QuarkXPress 3.1–4.1 import, binary DOC and formatted DOCX/ODT text insertion, original-font/style matching, richer WriteSplat paragraph exchange, updating page/total folios, editable HTML reading order and stronger independent printer preflight. WriteSplat adds blank documents, Letter page outlines, ruler units, indents and paragraph tabs.

All 16 application/collection ZIPs and the complete district suite have been rebuilt. Offline startup checks passed in Chromium and Firefox, alongside 12 extracted LayoutSplat workflows and four district Quick Start checks. Checksums accompany the releases. Native INDD, modern Pages IWA, QuarkXPress 5+ and external print certification remain unsupported.

Clear offline choices and root shortcuts

PDFSplat now opens directly from its extracted HTML in tested desktop Chrome and Firefox. CipherSplat’s offline ZIP includes its shared resources. Every package includes START-HERE.html and local launchers for Windows, macOS, and Linux; install Python 3 before going offline. Root-level OPEN-APP.html and named app shortcuts lead to the right app or its launcher instructions. Each individual app download states its offline requirements, and CipherSplat has its own download card.

September 23 live tool updates

Typing Games: four independent adventures

Cipher Chase adds TEKS definitions and a sound test. Wordfall Reactor defaults to everyday words against a computer, with optional TEKS sets and definition-only hints. Story Sprint blocks pasted answers while keeping classroom imports. Paws & Keys Adventure adds 12 kitten-and-puppy trails for ages 4–9. All four include instructions and language options.

Choose a game · Read the walkthrough. The full DrawSplat and Games v3.1.31 ZIPs include these games and their shared assets. For local use, extract the whole ZIP and use the included Python 3 launcher.

VideoSplat recording fixes

Encoded WebM timestamps determine clip duration even when browser metadata reports a short fragment. Recording review warns about incomplete video and offers the original download. File → Download original media retrieves stored footage without timeline edits. Video imports over 512 MB use bounded-memory hashing.

Pick the package you need

Choose the full DrawSplat download for the static whiteboard, tools, backends, and documentation. Add the SplatWorks suite or individual GridSplat, ShowSplat, WriteSplat, and ListSplat packages separately. Tools, Widgets, and Games are drop-in modules; AudioSplat, VideoSplat, MediaSplat, and PDFSplat also have independent downloads.

The release/package version is v3.1.31; the included whiteboard reports its own version, v3.1.12. Individual downloads contain their applicable apps and shared files, rather than another copy of the full whiteboard/backend.

What MySQL saving means today

Deploy an HTTPS API and database first, then connect it with Teacher Admin’s MySQL Wizard. Save online keeps private boards in the signed-in account, including added audio/video notes. Revision checks reject competing saves that would overwrite a newer copy.

Saving is explicit. Google classroom rooms, galleries, moderation, and turn-in/review remain separate; selecting MySQL does not enable those workflows or move existing data. Student accounts must be school-provisioned. Advanced district modules need separate validation. Read the hosting and connection guide.

Update with a backup

Keep board/project files and a database backup. Finish active recordings and exports before replacing files. Install matching package versions and retain your server’s private configuration. Verify downloads with SHA256SUMS-v3.1.31.txt; the older v3.1.25 release stays available unchanged.

October 9 creative-tool updates

PDFSplat converts supported documents and images locally, places text and signatures where you click or tap, edits text on the page, preserves page orientation, and saves PNG, JPG, or WebP. ImageSplat adds reversible photo adjustments, VideoSplat adds timeline markers, AudioSplat adds clip and selection analysis, and ShowSplat imports and exports WebDeck v5 with searchable slide navigation. Action icons keep visible labels.

New in v3.1.31: PDF presentations

Present edited PDF pages in a separate viewer, request full screen, blank the display, or run timed slides with optional looping. Save as WebDeck v5 creates a portable offline HTML presentation compatible with ShowSplat. These features are included in the refreshed PDFSplat, Tools, and full downloads.
